Archie and Our Rescue

In 2017,  Alyssa (aka Bella), did some major research into getting a family pet. Enter Archie, a grumpy little dwarf rabbit! What started with one rabbit turned into many more...

Fast forward to 2019, with the help of Caroline, people started to get to know Alyssa as the "bunny lady." By this time, she had taken in her first rescue, Lucky, who had been abandoned outside and had a very bad eye injury. With the help of Linda from Purrfect Endings Rescue, they got Lucky the medical attention he needed. As more rescue opportunities presented themselves, Alyssa realized that there was an overwhelming need for a rabbit rescue in Southern Alberta. A discussion with with her family led to the creation of Archie’s Angels Rabbit Rescue.

Archie's Angels Rabbit Rescue became a registered non-profit in 2020 and has rescued many animals that are not rabbits. So in 2023, the rescue decided to officially adopt and find homes for reptiles, tarantulas, and small mammals. In 2024, we started the work of officially transitioning to Archie's Exotic Pet Rescue.

Archie sadly crossed over the rainbow bridge on January 29, 2024, having lived a happy life. He is greatly missed by Alyssa, but he inspired a great legacy in Archie's Angels Rabbit Rescue and Archie's Exotic Pet Rescue.
